Universal colorant based on transparent iron oxide red PR 101, TEGO® Dispers 651 and TEGO® Dispers 655

The universal colorant based on Transoxide AC-1005 achieved by this formulation is water-based and can be used for tinting of water-based base paints and solvent-based alkyd paints. The colorant has a high pigment loading and shows outstanding transparency. It can be used for wood coatings and architectural paints. Pigment loading and additive dosage are developed for grinding purposes. Pigment loading and rheology might need to be adjusted for use in a dispenser.

Preparation

Prepare a premix from positions 1 - 5 and add while stirring.

Add component 6 while stirring.

Grind with appropriate equipment until stable color strength has been reached.

Adjust pH to 8.5.
