Dynasylan® 1122
Dynasylan® 1122 is a bifunctional organic compound in which the silicon-functional ethoxy-groups hydrolyze in the presence of water to form reactive silanols, which can be bonded to an inorganic substrate; the organophilic amino group can interact with a suitable polymer. Due to 6 hydrolyzable substituents present in one molecule, Dynasylan® 1122 is exceptionally suitable to form highly crosslinked networks on and between substrates and in organic matrices. The hydrolysis of Dynasylan® 1122 in water takes place by acidic catalysis (e.g. formic or acetic acid at a pH of 2-3). In order to achieve solubility in organic solvents simply add 2-4 wt.-% of water per wt.-% of Dynasylan® 1122. Upon stirring for 5h the solutions are ready for use. Examples of suitable inorganic substrates are glass, glass fibres, glass wool, mineral wool, silicic acid, quartz, sand, cristobalite, wollastonite and mica; also suitable are aluminium hydroxide, kaolin, talc, other silicate fillers, metal oxides and metals. Examples of suitable polymers are epoxy resins, polyurethanes, phenolic resins, furan resins, melamine resins, PA, PBT, PC, EVA, modified PP, PVB, PVAC, PVC, acrylates and silicones. The secondary amino group in Dynasylan® 1122 provides high basicity at somewhat lower reactivity compared to primary amino groups. This is of major advantage in e.g. adhesives and sealants where the silane is added to the polymer matrix: Homogeneous distribution and bonding/networking of Dynasylan® 1122 to the inorganic filler can commence unless bonding to organic materials (e.g. polymers) will proceed. Moreover, Dynasylan® 1122 has been successfully used as a component in aqueous PA- and PU-sizes for glass fibers.
Technologies

Dynasylan® 1124
Dynasylan® 1124 is a secondary aminofunctional methoxy-silane possessing two symmetric silicon atoms. Dynasylan® 1124 acts as an adhesion promoter between inorganic materials (for example glass, metals and fillers) and organic polymers (thermosets, thermoplastics and elastomers), as a surface modifier and can be used, for the chemical modification of substances. Dynasylan® 1124 is a colourless to yellow liquid with an amine-like odor, which is, for example, soluble in alcohols, aliphatic or aromatic hydrocarbons.
Technologies

Dynasylan® 1146
Hydrophobic Dynasylan® 1146 diaminofunctional silane is used in adhesives and sealants, and in coatings, to improve the adhesion of amino-reactive resins (e.g. RTV-silicones, two-part urethanes, silylated urethanes, MS polymers, and two-part epoxies) to inorganic surfaces, plastic surfaces, and inorganic fillers. Dynasylan® 1146 silane is characterized by randomly distributed linear and cyclic oligosiloxanes and it fulfills the OECD polymer definition. Its low volatility and viscosity make compounding easy. Dynasylan® 1146 silane produces significantly less by-product (VOC) and has a correspondingly low odor level during application.

Dynasylan® 1505
Dynasylan® 1505 is a bifunctional organic compound in which the silicon-functional ethoxy-groups hydrolyze in the presence of water to form reactive silanols, which can be bonded to an inorganic substrate; the organophilic amino group can interact with a suitable polymer. Technologies

Dynasylan® 4148
Dynasylan® 4148 helps to control rheological properties and to reduce viscosity in highly-filled polymer systems, like aluminum trihydroxide-filled polyesters or SMC-pastes. Contrary to most other organofunctional silanes, Dynasylan® 4148 features chemical polarity yet remaining chemically not reactive. Such a product is used as a hydrophilic compatibilizer rather than a covalent adhesion promoter. Dynasylan® 4148 permits workable viscosities at well over 250 phr aluminum trihydroxide loading in unsaturated polyester resins. Further more, Dynasylan® 4148 can be used as anti-settling agent for corrosion inhibitors in glycol based cooling agents. As a non-coupling silane Dynasylan® 4148 can also be used as a slipping agent to simply modify a surface.
Technologies

Dynasylan® GLYEO
The dual nature of its reactivity allows Dynasylan® GLYEO to bind chemically to both inorganic materials (e.g. glass, metals, fillers) and organic polymers (e.g. thermosets, thermoplastics, elastomers), thus functioning as an adhesion promoter, crosslinking agent and/or surface modifier. Dynasylan® GLYEO is a colorless low-viscosity liquid with a slight terpentine-like odor. It is soluble in alcohols, ketones and aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons.
Technologies

Dynasylan® GLYMO

Dynasylan® HYDROSIL 1151
Dynasylan® HYDROSIL 1151 is an aqueous oligomeric amino-functional silane hydrolysate, which acts as an adhesion promoter between inorganic materials (for example glass, metals and fillers) and organic polymers (thermosets, thermoplastics and elastomers). Dynasylan® HYDROSIL 1151 is a colorless to slightly yellowish aqueous solution with an amine-like odour, miscible with alcohols or water. Dynasylan® HYDROSIL 1151 is a bifunctional organic compound in which the functional silanol groups can be bonded to an inorganic substrate; the organophilic amino group can interact with a suitable polymer. The particular advantage of Dynasylan® HYDROSIL 1151 compared with the corresponding aminofunctional alkoxysilanes is its nonflammability, the fact that no volatile organic constituents are released and the fact that no particular equipment safety precautions are necessary. Dynasylan® HYDROSIL 1151 can be diluted with water in all proportions. The hydrolysates are long-term stable. Examples of suitable inorganic substrates are glass, glass fibres, glass wool, mineral wool, silicic acid, quartz, sand, cristobalite, wollastonite and mica; also suitable are aluminium trihydroxide, kaolin, talc, other silicate fillers, metal oxides and metals. Examples of particularly suitable polymers are epoxy resins, polyurethanes, phenolic resins, furane resins, melamine resins, PA, PBT, PC, EVA, PP, PVAC, acrylates and silicone.
Technologies

It is a colorless to slightly yellowish aqueous solution with an amine-like odour, miscible with alcohols or water. Dynasylan® HYDROSIL 1153 can be diluted with water in all proportions (stirring for at least 1 h at RT). During dilution, the oligomeric structure changes and the number of SiOH groups increases. Dynasylan® MTES
Dynasylan® MTES, an alkyltrialkoxysilane is an important component in sol-gel systems. Dynasylan® MTES is a colorless, low-viscosity liquid. Use requires acid- or alkali-catalysed hydrolysis. Dynasylan® MTES is regarded as trifunctional since all three alkoxy groups are able to participate in this reaction. Additionally Dynasylan® MTES contains a methyl group that adds organic character to the products. Hydrolysis leads to silanol groups which, in a subsequent condensation reaction, form very stable siloxane bonds (-Si-O-Si-). Condensation occurs parallel to hydrolysis once a certain amount of silanol groups have been formed. The absolute and relative rates of hydrolysis and condensation depends on a number of factors. The most important factors include pH, concentration, solvent, temperature and the catalyst.

Dynasylan® OCTEO
Dynasylan® OCTEO is a clear colourless liquid and soluble in common non-polar organic solvents (e.g. petroleum ether, toluene). However its low volatility and viscosity make Dynasylan® OCTEO an easy-to-handle additive. During the hydrolysis reaction between water and Dynasylan® OCTEO a certain amount of ethanol (VOC) is released.
